Topics / Speakers:
1. QTP: Using LoadAndRunAction to Efficiently use Batch Resources
Doug Matzke, Ph.D., VP of Sales, Interoperate
Synopsis: Typically the batch framework flow in WinRunner controls running small subsets of the overall large test suite. The historical way these were implemented in WinRunner was to use call_close with a dynamic list of script names. The efficient run time performance of call_close in WinRunner can be replicated in QTP by using LoadAndRunAction statement in QTP because then the scripts are only loaded when actually used rather than as a long list of static resources. This presentation shows how to organize your batch lists and mapping tables (action names vs script names) to emulate in QTP the efficient/lazy batch resource usage of call_close. We discuss how to deal with script/action arguments and will present performance advantages of this approach.
2. Having Your Cake and Eating it too – Tips on Test Script and Test Set Organization in Quality Center
